Overview
Research grounded in consciousness and lived transformation
My research explores the relationship between consciousness, experience, development, and transformation. Across scholarly, contemplative, and public-facing contexts, I am interested in how individuals come to know, refine, and express deeper dimensions of themselves through disciplined practice, symbolic systems, education, service, and sustained inquiry.
This work is rooted in the understanding that human development does not unfold only at the surface level of behaviour or outcome. Rather, it emerges through deeper patterns of awareness, meaning, learning, embodiment, and engagement with the world.

Doctoral Research
Mystical experience among Freemasons
My doctoral research examined mystical experience among Freemasons and explored how members of the Craft understand, interpret, and integrate experiences of depth, transcendence, symbolism, and transformation.
This research led to the development of the Model for Perpetual Growth and Progress, a framework describing developmental movement through seeking, learning, tool development, intentional refinement, sacred service, mastery through practice, and expanded outcomes.
The project reflects a broader concern with how symbolic traditions, contemplative practices, and disciplined pathways of refinement may support human development across personal, ethical, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions.

Mystical Experiences Among Freemasons and Rosicrucians
An Inquiry into Consciousness, Symbolism, and Human Development
Completed as part of the requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy in Vedic Science at Maharishi International University, this mixed-methods study examined mystical experience among Freemasons and Rosicrucians and explored how initiates understand, interpret, and integrate experiences of transcendence, symbolism, transformation, and personal growth.
Employing both qualitative and quantitative methods and drawing upon consciousness-based frameworks, the dissertation investigated the relationship between contemplative experience, symbolic traditions, human development, and the cultivation of meaning. The findings informed the development of the Model for Perpetual Growth and Progress, a framework describing the developmental movement from seeking and learning through refinement, service, mastery, and expanded outcomes.
The project also benefited from the guidance of Dr. Ralph W. Hood, Jr., whose pioneering work in the scientific study of mystical experience informed the research from its earliest stages. Dr. Hood generously provided both access to the measurement instrument employed in the study and methodological guidance throughout the research process, contributing significantly to the project's development and execution.
